Hunch.net receives over a hundred spam comments per day, so a filter of some sort is absolutely necessary. The current one being used is Akismet which splits the comments into 3 categories: spam, unknown, and not spam.
Spam labeled comments are essentially never looked at by a human. There is one known instance of nonspam miscategorized as spam.
Many comments end in the ‘unknown’ category, which means you’ll have to wait for some personal attention. On average, this category is emptied once a day.
“Not spam” labeled comments are immediately posted. If you have an account and have previously made an approved comment, you should often receive the “not spam” label.
